COMMITTED TO A SAFE AND HEALTHY WORKPLACE
At TITAN we are committed to doing our best in order to safeguard the health and safety of all our employees and contractors, in all activities where we have management control, while we also urge our suppliers, contractors and third parties to adopt similar views and practices.
Safety performance of all our sites is assessed and the findings are used to trigger local or Group-wide efforts, as appropriate. By careful planning, target setting and monitoring, we have achieved significant improvements over the past years.
We aim to be in the top 25% of the WBCSD/CSI members’ performance in Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate for employees.
In 2017 we introduced our health surveillance system for dust, respirable crystalline silica and noise, to streamline the health surveillance efforts across the Group.
We run long-term health and safety programs for the young, helping to nurture a generation which will help create a healthier and safer living environment. In collaboration with the “Board of European Students of Technology (BEST), more than 1050 engineering students have received safety training at the TITAN cement plants in Greece, since the program commenced in 2012. At the same time more than 60,000 children up to junior high school level have followed our “Safety at Home” workshops, run by TITAN volunteers.
